By utilising an expansion to the village boundary, and considering and understanding the historic pattern of development familiar to Henlow, this development integrates seamlessly with the local character by ensuring that the new buildings take inspiration from the existing context and character of the conservation area. This sensitive approach drew support from design officers and the Planning Committee creating a new neighbourhood of contemporary homes, but with a design which displays a more traditional approach to forms and details to reinforce the architecture more typical of the High Street of Henlow.
The application included Heritage Statements and demolition of an existing building within the conservation area, as well as managing the constraints associated with a more rural location.
A design for much needed, quality family homes for sale and rent with a good variety of house types and sizes based on research of the local community needs, a safe and enjoyable environment, that enhances community cohesion.
