A part four, part five storey scheme on a challenging, narrow, triangular site located on the main route linking Central London with Greenwich, close to the north end of Deptford High Street. The ‘sharp point’ of the triangle faces west towards London.
Whilst the south elevation is set back slightly from the busy Creek Road with a landscaped strip in between and further animated by mature street trees, the quieter north elevation faces onto a local park across McMillan Street. North and west elevations form the back edge of pavement completing an urban block.
Two contrasting shades of brick, red and buff, clearly emphasise a layered and rigorously gridded facade with deep reveals, forming appropriately robust façades with recessed terraces. The fifth floor emerges in buff-brick, as a set back element from within a red-bricked perimeter outer shell. Tenure is split between affordable and shared ownership accessed from 2 cores fronting onto McMillan Street. These cores extend to roof level, where residents have access to a communal landscaped terrace.
